A teacher was talking to a fellow
educator and said that they'd like to die during an in-service. Their
colleague was appalled and asked incredulously why someone would think
that! Our teaching friend said; "then the transition between
life and death would be gradual and I'd be asleep before I knew I was dead".
We've all suffered through trainings and in-services like that, haven't
we? (Hopefully nobody died, but there might have been times it was hard to
tell by looking around you!)
Well, we can guarantee that this
won't happen with staff training or in-services with The Science
Connection!!! We'll keep you busy, on your feet, sitting,
moving, experimenting, trying, explaining, cutting, fixing, breaking,
laughing, sharing, talking, dropping, racing, and especially learning
science!!! You've never seen science taught like
this!!!
All our materials are
constructivist-based! We want to explore the science concept by
doing something that's fun and hands-on, get the science behind
it explained and understood, and then apply this
learning to other science and especially to the real world around
us!
We can also train entire
districts who have adopted our curriculum activities, whether
it's a unit kit, a full state standard-based curriculum, or kits that are
designed to "fill in holes" that exist in your textbook scope
and sequence! We'll take you through the materials you've selected for
your district and get you "off and running", ready to start the year
teaching science!
No the transition between life and
death won't happen in our workshops, like the story above, but the
transition between good and better teaching will be very noticeable!!!!
